The purpose of the Friends of the Baldwin City Library is to maintain an association of persons interested in books, and Libraries; to focus public attention on Library services, facilities, and needs; and to stimulate gifts of books, magazines, desirable collections, endowments and bequests.
Membership in this organization is open to all individuals in sympathy with its purposes, and to representatives of organizations and clubs when such representation is desired.
Thanks to our members' support and that of the Baldwin City and Douglas County area residents, the Friends have been able to donate $10,000 toward the Baldwin City Public Library Foundation. The Friends have purchased a map table in the Kansas Section of the library recently in honor of Katherine B. Kelley. The Friends also provided gel bracelets for our young participants in the 2007 Summer Reading Program at the library and plan to do so again in 2008.
